HIGHLANDER HITS
- Winners of three straight and eight of its last nine, first-place Radford returns to the Dedmon Center for the first time since Jan. 21 when it hosts Presbyterian Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
- The Highlanders, who are tied for the top spot in the league standings with VMI, enter 12-10 on the year, including 9-2 in Big South Conference play, following a 59-55 win at Winthrop Monday.
- Radford is off to its best start in Big South play since recording a 12-2 conference mark during the 2000-01 season, which was also the last time it recorded 10 conference victories in a campaign.
- The Highlanders' recent success began with their 65-55 victory at Presbyterian on Jan. 3 in Clinton, S.C.
- Against Big South competition, Radford is only allowing 65.8 points per game and opponents are connecting on just 38.1 percent of their attempts from the field.
- Radford is 9-0 on the season when holding its opponent under 59 points. The Highlanders have accomplished that feat in seven of their 11 conference tilts.
- With 17 rebounds in his last outing,
Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus) moved into 11th nationally in rebounds per game with a 10.7 average. The 6-11 center also leads three Highlanders in double figures averaging 14.4 points per outing. Junior

Kenny Thomas (Richmond, Highland Springs) are also turning in more than 10 points per outing with clips of 14.0 and 13.4, respectively.
- Presbyterian enters the fourth meeting all-time 10-12 on the season and 7-4 in the league following a 65-62 win over Coastal Carolina Wednesday evening.
- Al'Lonzo Coleman continues to pace the Blue Hose in scoring (14.4) and rebounding (8.0). Bryan Bostic, who led Presbyterian with 17 points in its last outing, is turning in 12.6 points per game, while Josh Johnson is averaging 10.7.
- Radford will conclude its brief homestand with a 7 p.m. contest against Big South foe Coastal Carolina Monday evening.
SERIES HISTORY
- Tonight's meeting is just the fourth all-time with Radford holding a 2-1 edge.
- The two teams split last year's meetings with the home team winning on both occassions.
- Earlier this season, Radford used a pair of lengthy runs and a 53.1 shooting percentage to end Presbyterian's 14-game home winning streak with a 65-55 victory on Jan. 3, 2009.

Joey Lynch-Flohr led Radford with 15 points, while Art Parakhouski recorded his seventh double-double of the season and third straight with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Amir Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) was the third Highlander to hit the 10-point plateau recording 13 points.

Chris McEachin (Norfolk, Va./Norview) scored a career-high 19 points and Art Parakhouski recorded his 11th double-double of the season to lead Radford to a 59-55 victory over Winthrop Monday evening at the Winthrop Coliseum.
- McEachin finished the evening 8-for-10 from the field en route to his fifth straight double-digit contest off the bench and seventh in the last eight games. To go along with 15 points, Parakhouski, who entered tied for 12th nationally in rebounds per game, pulled down a game-high 17 boards.
Joey Lynch-Flohr was the third Highlander in double figures with 16 points, 12 of which came after intermission.
- After a pair of Charles Corbin free throws cut the Eagles' deficit to 57-55 with just 47 seconds remaining, McEachin banked in a running layup from the right side with 14 ticks left to give Radford its eighth triumph in the last nine outings.
- The Highlanders pushed the margin to 35-28 on a Lynch-Flohr jumper 2:06 into the second half, but Winthrop responded with a 13-3 spurt to grab its first lead of the evening. Radford wasted little time pushing the game back in its favor as it answered with an 8-3 run of its own to go up 47-43 at the 7:29 mark.
- Radford shot 41.5 percent (22-53) from the floor, while holding the Eagles to just 23-of-77 (29.9 percent), including a 1-for-20 showing from deep.
CALL IN THE RESERVE... MAKE IT MCEACHIN
A major key to the Highlanders' success recently has been the play of sophomore
Chris McEachin. Off the bench, the 6-5 guard is averaging 11.2 points per game, while shooting 53.5 percent in Radford's last nine contests. During the stretch, McEachin has recorded seven double figure performances, including a career-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting at Winthrop.

MARTIN EARNS ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT HONORS
Phillip Martin (Roanoke, Va./Roanoke Catholic) of the Radford men's basketball team has been named
to the
ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 2008-09 Men's Basketball team as announced Thursday morning.
The junior forward was a first-team District III honoree, joining Aaron Linn (Gardner-Webb), Greg Paulus (Duke), Giedrius Knysas (Charleston Southern) and Brian Zoubek (Duke) on the squad. Martin, who holds a 3.91 GPA, is double-majoring in social science and philosophy and religious studies at Radford.
For his outstanding work in the classroom, Martin has been selected to the Dean's List every semester and earned Big South All-Academic recognition each of the last two seasons.
