NORFOLK, Va. – Kirsten Walker scored in each half, leading Old Dominion to a 3-0 win over Radford on Friday night in non-conference women's soccer.
Walker's first gave the Monarchs (4-4-0) all they needed offensively in the 26th minute. Saratu Dodo's set piece was touched by Ashley Kukura to Walker, who finished to give Old Dominion the early 1-0 lead.
The second from Walker came in the 68th, as Kukura saved a ball from going out and found an open Walker, who knocked it in the upper half of the net to put the Monarchs ahead 2-0.
Jodi Knorowski gave Old Dominion a 3-0 lead in the 83rd minute off a pass from Ashlee Coutu.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Lisa Lubke (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) turned aside eight shots in 80 minutes for the Highlanders (3-5-0), a season high. The Monarchs fired 27 times at the Radford net.
Radford continues its eastern road swing Monday, with a 7 p.m. game at Campbell.
