LYNCHBURG, Va. – Sophomore goalkeeper
Ryan Taylor (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) made five saves for Radford, including four in the second half, to help keep Liberty off the board in a 0-0 double overtime tie in the Big South men's soccer season opener on Saturday night.
Taylor posted his second career shutout, making all five of his stops after halftime for Radford (2-2-1, 0-0-1 Big South).
Saturday night's game was the first Big South match played, league-wide, in 2009.
To keep the game scoreless, Radford had to weather 11 Liberty (3-1-1 0-0-1) shot attempts in the second half.
Since 2000, Radford has earned a positive result in eight of its ten Big South season openers.
Radford continues league play on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Highlanders host Gardner-Webb at 6 p.m.
