Scouting the 49ers
-- Under the direction of first-year head coach Alan Major, Charlotte returns four starters and six letterwinners from last year's club that posted a 19-12 overall record.
-- The 49ers enter their first-ever meeting with Radford 2-4 on the season after an 83-70 loss at Oregon State Wednesday evening.
-- Charlotte has already faced a pair of Big South opponents this season. The 49ers opened 2010-11 with a 78-70 setback to Gardner-Webb before suffering a 79-75 (2OT) loss to Coastal Carolina on the final day of the Charleston Classic.
-- Despite the slow start, Charlotte's Jamar Briscoe (17.3/.400) and Shamari Spears (17.0/.429) are averaging a combined 34.3 points per contest, while also shooting at least 40 percent from long range.
-- Derrio Green, who leads the club in assists per game (5.3), is also pouring in more than 13 points per outing.
-- As a team, the 49ers are attempting 23.5 3-pointers per game, while making almost eight.
