Pregame Notes
-- Radford will conclude its three-game road swing with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Charlotte Saturday evening.
-- The Highlanders enter 2-2 on the young season following an 81-55 setback at George Mason Wednesday.
-- Despite the loss, Evan Faulkner (Sandy Hook, Ky./Elliott County) paced three Highlanders in double figures with a career-high 15 points. Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey/St. Mary's Ryken) and freshman Lukas Winegarner (Sodertalje, Sweden/Igelstavikens gymnasium) added 13 and 10, respectively. Faulkner and Sonmez both hit three buckets from behind the arc.
-- Sonmez (10.8 ppg) is the only Highlander averaging double figures through four games.
-- Tommy Spagnolo (West Jefferson, N.C./Ashe County) and Faulkner are right behind Sonmez averaging 9.5 and 9.0 points, respectively.
-- In addition to being second on the club in scoring, Spagnolo leads the way on the glass grabbing 6.0 rebounds per outing.
-- Radford and the 49ers have never met on the hardwood.

Scouting the 49ers
-- Under the direction of first-year head coach Alan Major, Charlotte returns four starters and six letterwinners from last year's club that posted a 19-12 overall record.
-- The 49ers enter their first-ever meeting with Radford 2-4 on the season after an 83-70 loss at Oregon State Wednesday evening.
-- Charlotte has already faced a pair of Big South opponents this season. The 49ers opened 2010-11 with a 78-70 setback to Gardner-Webb before suffering a 79-75 (2OT) loss to Coastal Carolina on the final day of the Charleston Classic.
-- Despite the slow start, Charlotte's Jamar Briscoe (17.3/.400) and Shamari Spears (17.0/.429) are averaging a combined 34.3 points per contest, while also shooting at least 40 percent from long range.
-- Derrio Green, who leads the club in assists per game (5.3), is also pouring in more than 13 points per outing.
-- As a team, the 49ers are attempting 23.5 3-pointers per game, while making almost eight.
