RADFORD, Va. – Kristen Shifflett picked up her third Big South Choice Hotels Softball Player of the Week award, announced the league office Monday afternoon.

Shifflett was one of many Highlanders that played a key role in the Radford's second consecutive Big South regular season championship. Recording four multi-hit games last week, she batted .588 with two doubles, three home runs, six RBI and four runs scored.

The junior shortstop also slugged 1.235 and recorded a .650 on base percentage. She got her week rolling with a 3-for-7 (one home run) performance against her hometown Virginia Cavaliers.

She continued that momentum into a key weekend series at Winthrop. In three games, she was 7-for-10 with two home runs and five RBI. Shifflett, who slugged 1.400 and registered a .900 on base percentage, capped off the series with a 3-for-4, home run and two RBI performance as the Highlanders clinched the regular season in front of a national audience on ESPNU.

The Highlanders head to Chapel Hill, N.C. on Wednesday, April 28 for a doubleheader at North Carolina beginning at 3 p.m.
