RADFORD, Va. – Radford women's soccer will play their second consecutive home match with a 1 p.m. tilt on Sunday against Old Dominion at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium.
The Highlanders and Monarchs are no strangers on the field, as this will mark the 13th meeting between the in-state rivals dating back to 1981, with ODU leading the all-time series, 10-1-1. Radford won its only matchup with Monarchs in 2008, 2-1, en route to gaining a third Big South crown and making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance.
The first half will be an intriguing factor, as neither defense has allowed a goal in the first frame all season.
ODU comes into the game with a 1-1-1 record, recording a win at VMI and a double-overtime draw against BIG EAST foe Syracuse. Jocelyn Weidner and Kirstin Walker lead the Monarchs with two goals apiece.
Thursday's overtime thriller with Campbell featured a game-winning strike from Radford sophomore
Mary Wiley 1:12 into the overtime period that ricocheted off the crossbar and snuck across the goal line. The goal was the first of the season for Wiley.
