RADFORD, Va. – Unbeaten in nine of its last 10 at home, Radford welcomes “New River Rival” Virginia Tech to Cupp Stadium Tuesday evening for a 6 p.m. contest. In addition to FREE ADMISSION, the first 300 Fans will receive BEAT TECH T-Shirts compliments of Greenhill Apartments.

The Highlanders enter the 35
th meeting 7-7-0 overall following a 2-1 setback at Presbyterian over the weekend. Radford, which trails 21-11-2 in the all-time series, defeated the Hokies 3-1 in the two club's last meeting at Cupp on Oct. 6, 2009.
“Virginia Tech is a very athletic and extremely talented team. They have many outstanding players and we will have to be extremely organized and focused defensively to compete in this game. As always, we will prepare to give ourselves a great chance at winning the game and we expect our group to have a great deal of desire to compete against another quality ACC opponent.”
Radford's lone goal on Saturday evening came from sophomore
Luis Grande (Caracas, Venezuela / U.E. Colegio Los Arcos) on an assist from
Iyiola Awosika (London, England / Aylesbury Grammar), who ranks second in the league in goals and total points.
Along with Awosika's impressive play this season, sophomore
Chel Ho Kim Park (Santander, Spain) leads the Big South and ranks T-8
th nationally in assists with seven.
Virginia Tech comes into the contest 4-9-2 overall following a 0-0 draw against No. 21 Virginia Friday night.
The Hokies, who have played seven overtime contests this season, have scored just 12 goals in 2011. James Shupp, Robert Alberti and David Clemens lead the way with two goals each.
Radford will conclude its 2011 home schedule Saturday evening with a 6 p.m. “Senior Night” match against league-foe Gardner-Webb.
