WADE SHOOTS 68, CURRENTLY IN SECOND AT HUMMINGBIRD INTERCOLLEGIATE

DAY ONE RESULTS
CASHIERS, N.C. – Radford senior golfer Michael Wade (Floyd, Va./Floyd) continues his outstanding fall season, tying his career low 68 in the first round of the Hummingbird Intercollegiate and is currently in second place heading into the final round tomorrow.
Sitting atop the leaderboard for the majority of the day, Wade carded a three-under and is one shot back of Kristopher Gray of Gardner-Webb. Wade began his day with three birdies on the front nine and charted one on the back. It was the fourth straight tournament he has recorded at least one round in the 60's.
Redshirt-junior Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) shot a four-over 75 and Callum Tarren (Darlington, England/Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form) currently sits at six-over 77 in his second event of the year.
As a team, the Highlanders recorded a 298 and find themselves tied for 11th.
The 36-hole fall finale is being played on the par-71, 6,767-yard layout at Sapphire Valley Golf Club.
The second and final round will begin with a 10 a.m. tee time Tuesday morning.
