CONWAY, S.C. – Behind five saves from
Lisa Lubke (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales), Radford women's soccer recorded its third straight shutout and posted a 2-0 Big South road win at Coastal Carolina, Thursday evening from CCU Soccer Field.
All five of Lubke's stops came in the second half, four after freshman
Myrina Booker's (Winchester, Va./John Handley) first collegiate goal gave the Highlanders (8-3-0, 3-0-0 Big South) a 2-0 lead and some breathing room.
The victory, Radford's first ever in Conway, was its third straight and sixth in the last seven contests. It also marked the Highlanders' seventh clean sheet of the season, tied for ninth most in a single-season.
The Highlanders got on the board in the 10th minute, courtesy of an own goal.
Booker's strike, Radford's first shot of the second half, came during a set piece in the 67th minute.
Sydney Golden's (Lexington, Ky./Paul N. Dunbar) service from just outside the right of the box was redirected by Booker's head into the far side of the net for the insurance goal.
Booker became the 13th Highlander to find the back of the net, while Golden dished out her second helper of the season.
Saundra Baron recorded three saves between the pipes for the Chanticleers (0-11-1, 0-3-0).
Radford closes out its trip to South Carolina with a Saturday afternoon Big South contest at Charleston Southern. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
