FIRST DAY RESULTS
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Current school-record holder
Phillip Hovatter (Mt. Jackson, Va./Stonewall Jackson) currently sits in third place after four events in the heptathlon to highlight Radford track and field action on the first day of the Liberty Kickoff Friday.
Hovatter posted personal-bests in the 60m (7.31) and high jump (1.87m) to place third in each event. He earned 2,704 points, 303 points shy of the leader, with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m remaining tomorrow.
In the women's weight throw,
Sharee Fitzgerald (Chatham, Va./Chatham) placed eighth with a toss of 14.46m / 47-05.25. Just behind her in 14th was
Jazmine Banks (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester), who recorded a mark of 12.65m / 41-06.00 in her first collegiate event.
The event wraps up tomorrow with men's weight throw, women's triple jump and men's long jump kicking things off at 9:30 a.m.
