DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson rallied from a two run deficit with a five-run seventh inning in a 6-5 win over Radford on Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats (2-2) got three straight one-out hits before tying the game on Jack McLindon's squeeze bunt that scored Forrest Brandt, tying the game at 3-3. Kelly Myers' single brought home Seth Freeman, then Drew Gadaire's two-run homer gave Davidson a three-run cushion.
“We thought our bullpen was fresh and thought we were ready,” head coach
Joe Raccuia said. “All weekend, we gave up only one big inning and this one cost us a baseball game.”
Matt Hillsinger led the Highlanders (2-1) at the plate with a 4-for-5 afternoon, scoring twice.
Alex Guerra walked twice and singled, going 1-for-2.
Zach Costello was 2-for-5 with an RBI double in the seventh, narrowing the margin to 6-4.
