CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior Justin Smith was tabbed Big South Conference Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the League office on Wednesday.

Smith finished with a season-best third-place showing at the VT Challenge with a 16.07m/52'8.75” distance in the shot put.  His mark stood as the second best throw in the Big South this year.  

Smith will compete today at 4:45 in the shot put at the Big South Championships, as he hopes to improve upon a fifth-place performance a year ago.
