BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB used a four-run sixth to rally past Radford, 7-5, Friday evening from UAB Softball Field to conclude the first day of the Magic City Classic.
After the Highlanders (2-4) grabbed a 5-2 lead with a four-run fourth, the host Blazers (6-6) scored a run in the fourth and four more in the sixth to complete the comeback.

and Shannon Keefe# each went 2-for-3 for Radford.
Radford grabbed an early 1-0 lead on a RBI single by Keefe in the top of the first. Her base hit knocked Ojeda who led the game off with a double and moved to third on a sac bunt by senior
Lauren Williams.
The Blazers scored two-out runs in the bottom of the second and third to grab a 2-1 lead.
Taking advantage of two UAB errors, Radford regained the lead, 5-2, with its four-run fourth.

With two outs, she and junior
Michelle Beall crossed the plate on a misplayed grounder to first. Junior
Meredith Moore came around to score from first on a single by freshman
Jessie Hutchens and a two-base error by the leftfielder.
After another two-out run by the Blazers in the bottom half of the fourth cut the Highlanders' advantage to 5-3, UAB complete the comeback when Kayla Orr's bases loaded single knocked in two runs, giving the it the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth.
The Highlanders used four pitchers on the evening. Senior
Kellie Snooks, the third to take the ball for Radford, suffered the defeat. She allowed the final four runs, three earned, on three hits in 1.2 innings.
Leigh Streetman earned the win for the Blazers in 3.1 innings of shutout relief.
Radford returns to the field tomorrow for a pair of games against Lipscomb and Saint Louis. The contests will be at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. EST and will be at Samford's Bulldog Field.
