NORFOLK, Va. – In their final non-conference contest of the season, the Radford women's soccer team fell to Old Dominion, 3-0, Sunday afternoon.
The loss snapped Radford's (5-3) three-game winning streak, while Old Dominion improved to 3-4-1.
The Monarchs were held scoreless in the first half, but came out in the second frame to net three goals. Amber Cook put Old Dominion up 1-0 in the 56th minute on a shot from seven yards out. From there, Ashlee Coutu netted two goals four minutes apart to finalize the scoring at 3-0.
Lisa Lubke (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) started in goal and recorded six stops. Offensively,
Julie Ruh'e (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) fired two shots and five others had one shot apiece towards Monarchs' keeper Brianna Alvarado.
Old Dominion held the advantage in shots, 18-8, and in corners, 9-4.
