BLACKSBURG, Va. – Allen Dooms (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) tied the school record in the 60m dash and
Aimee Veatch (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) finished seventh in the hammer throw to highlight Radford track and field action at the Hokie Invitational Friday evening.
Dooms' school-record time came in the preliminaries with a 6.91, tying
Raschad Kelso's 2008 mark. Dooms would go on to run a 6.99 in the finals to place eighth. Veatch captured seventh place with her throw of 16.24m.
Sharee Fitzgerald (Chatham, Va./Chatham) was just behind Veatch with a toss of 14.86m to finish ninth.
In the men's throws,
Curtis Hodge (Oak Park, Calif./Moorpark College) had a tenth-place showing in the weight throw with a mark of 16.61m.
Other notable Highlander finishes were
Courtni Pannell's (Newport News, Va./Bethel) ninth-place showing (8.96) and
Vincent Wyatt's (Atlanta, Ga./William Fleming) 8.31 in the 60m hurdles.
