HIGHLANDERS' UNBEATEN STREAK TO 13; PLAY TO 0-0 DRAW AT LIBERTY

BOX SCORE LYNCHBURG, Va. – Radford women's soccer tied for the third straight time and matched a school record with its 13th consecutive contest without a loss, playing to a scoreless draw at Liberty on a chilly Saturday evening from East Campus Fields.

Che' Brown posted her ninth shutout with six saves as the Highlanders (10-2-4, 6-0-4 Big South) recorded their 10th clean sheet of the season, the third straight year with 10-plus shutouts.

Karen Blocker stopped seven shots to earn the clean sheet for the Lady Flames (11-6-2, 5-3-2).

Liberty held advantages in shots (28-23) and corner kicks (9-6). Making her first collegiate start, freshman Sally Dillinger paced Radford with four shots, while Helena Pereira charted a match-high seven for Liberty.

The Highlanders and Lady Flames went into the break scoreless. Radford held an 8-6 advantage in shots with each squad earning two corner kicks. Both keepers made two saves, but neither team really threatened with the majority of the chances coming from outside the 18.

Radford came out strong in the second half and immediately put pressure on the Liberty defense. The best opportunity came when a cross was misplayed, but Rachel Conway's shot from in close went just wide.

After all the pressure, Brown had to come up with one of her best saves of the season when she left her feet and fully extended to rob Megan Warner in the 64th minute. Both squads had a couple of flurries and deep runs in the final 10 minutes, but could not come up with the goal.

The Lady Flame outshot Radford, 10-1, in the overtime periods, but Radford had its best opportunity when sophomore Kara Nay got behind the LU defense with two on rushing teammates, but her cross was smothered by Blocker.

Radford closes out the regular season at home on Tuesday when it hosts VMI at 7:00 p.m. Prior to the match, seniors Mary Wiley, Krissia Vasquez and Megan Rhodes will be recognized.
