HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Radford Softball split on the final day of the Bank of Hawai'i Invitational taking the consolation game against UC Santa Barbara, 3-0. The Highlanders (6-6) fell to No. 22 Hawai'i 5-1 in the semifinal contest.

Against the Gauchos (7-15), Micalah Sacre and Jackie Jenkins combined on a three-hit shutout. Freshman Jackie Warr and senior Nichole Beall provided the offense with two hits apiece, each hitting a solo home run.

Sacre went the first six, allowing just three hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. Jenkins came in and retired the final three batters after entering with runners on first and second and no outs to earn her second save of the season and preserve the Highlanders' first shutout of 2012.

Radford opened the scoring in the third on a sac fly to left by Michelle Beall.

Solo home runs by Warr and Beall in the fourth and fifth innings extended Radford's lead to 3-0. Warr's was the first of her career and Beall's was a towering Cecil Fielder-like shot over the screen and batting cages in leftfield.

Beall scored a pair of runs for the Highlanders, while she and Warr each registered a stolen base.

In its first contest, Radford held No. 22 Hawai'i's powerful offense to just five hits, but a three-run first was too much as the Highlanders fell, 5-1 in the semifinals of the Bank of Aloha Invitational.

Freshman Emily Norton held the Rainbow Wahine (16-0) scoreless and hitless in the final three innings and Sacre provided the Highlanders with their only run with a solo long ball, her second of the season, in the sixth.

Norton struck out one and walked three, but only allowed one runner into scoring position in her outing.

In the decisive first, Hawai'i batted around and scored three runs, two on Jessica Iwata's single, on four hits in the bottom of the first. They would add two more in the third on a two-run double by Leisha Li'ili'i.

Sacre put Radford on the board with her second long ball of the season, a blast to left with one out in the sixth.

The Highlanders were held to three hits by Kaia Parnaby, as Nichole Beall and Warr singled and doubled, respectively.

Radford returns to action on Thursday against the Rainbow Wahine in its first game of the Pepsi Malahini Kipa Aloha Tournament.
