OLINGER CAPTURES SECOND STRAIGHT HURDLES TITLE AT OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Radford senior Brett Olinger captured his second straight outdoor conference title in the 400m hurdles and led five all-conference performances on Saturday's finale of the Big South Outdoor Championships.
 
Olinger stopped the clock at 53.24 to become Big South Champion for the second time in his career (2011).  Olinger charted another Radford Top-10 time (8th) on a list in which he owns every mark.
 
Freshman Vincent Wyatt earned all-conference honors in the 110m hurdles with his runner-up showing of 14.23.  With his performance, Wyatt now has the Top-7 times among hurdlers at Radford.
 
Kaise White finished with a season-best performance of 47.71 and finished runner-up in the men's 400m.  Tehquin Warrick crossed in third place with a personal-best time of 47.96 to join White on the podium. 
 
Olinger, Warrick, Ronquis Posey and White were the last all-conference athletes in the 4x400m.  The group clocked a 3:15.65 and took third place.  It was the fifth straight year Radford placed the 4x400 team on the podium.
 
The men's team finished sixth in the team standings with 57 points. 

Olinger, Posey, Joseph Betts and Allen Dooms ran the third fastest time in Radford history in the men's 4x100m with a 41.16.  The foursome finished fifth in the event.  Courtni PannellAmber ChurchKayla Christian and Lakei Crews clocked the fourth fastest time in history on the women's side at 48.01 and finished fourth. 
 
Josiah Brunson recorded a personal-best 3.95m / 12-11.50 clearance in the pole vault and brought home sixth place.  His vault was good for ninth all-time.
 
Pannell placed seventh in the finals of the women's 100m hurdles with the ninth fastest time in program history at 14.44. 
 
In the finals of the 100m dash, Crews charted a seventh-place showing at 12.34.  As for the men, Dooms clocked a 10.87 to take sixth place.
 
Eric Graves had a PR of 1:55.01 in the 800m finals to bring home fifth place.

Women's 5000m – Caroline Ratterree (18:26.23 | 17th)
Women's Discus – Jordan Wilson (37.17m | 17th), Emmalene Hale (36.82m | 19th)
Men's 5000m – Ryan Farnan (15:40.25 | 16th)
Men's Javelin – Travis Hudson (50.18m | 11th)
 
Due to time constraints the head coaches did not vote on the Most Outstanding Track Performer, Most Outstanding Field Performer, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year.  Those awards along with the All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be released on Monday, April 23.

Radford will host its lone home meet, the Highlander Invitational, next weekend (Apr. 27-28) at Cupp Stadium Track.
