WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS AT NO. 7 VIRGINIA, 5-0

BOX SCORE CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Behind three first-half goals, seventh-ranked Virginia defeated Radford, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon from Klockner Stadium.

Goals from Kate Norbo (17th), Makenzy Doniak (24th) and Gloria Douglass (31st) and two saves by Danielle DeLisle keyed the Cavaliers (1-1) in their first-half advantage. Doniak also dished out a pair of assists, while Danielle Colaprico and Kalli Torres added second half scores for Virginia.

Six different Highlanders (1-1) recorded a shot. Sophomore Stephanie Herb and junior Sydney Golden put their attempts on frame.

Che' Brown made three saves in 68:21 of action. Junior Lexy Eckerle closed out the final 21:17 in net for Radford.

The Highlanders had two opportunities to get on the board in the first 26 minutes, including a chance by Herb in the 11th minute that would have given Radford an early advantage, but DeLisle stopped that attempt, along with Golden's shot in the 26th minute.

Radford is off until next Sunday when it heads to Johnson City, Tenn. for a 1:00 p.m. contest at East Tennessee State.
