HIGHLANDERS HOST HIGH POINT AND CAMPBELL FOR LEAGUE CONTESTS

Radford women's soccer welcomes High Point and Campbell to Cupp Memorial Stadium as it begins defense of its 2011 Big South Tournament Title. The Highlanders (4-2), coming off a 12-day layoff, enter Thursday's 7:00 p.m. opener against the Panthers (1-4-4) having won three straight, including the last two by shutout. In a rematch of last season's championship match, the Camels (5-1-1), who own the league's best record, venture to the New River Valley on Saturday afternoon for a 2:00 p.m. tilt.

A LOOK AT RU: Radford has won three straight with victories over Old Dominion, Delaware State and Southern Virginia... The latter two were by shutout, bringing RU's total to three this season... Since 2007, Radford is 16-3-3 in home Big South contests, including 12-1-1the past three seasons...  Kim Harkins, Melissa Vogel and Caitlin Kick all scored their first collegiate goals in a 9-0 win over Southern Virginia... Cate Weaver, Asyia Mitchell and Annabel Bergin dished out their first collegiate assists in that contest.
 
A LOOK AT HPU: The Panthers dropped their last match at West Virginia on Sunday and are winless over their last four contests… High Point's lone victory came on Aug. 31, a 2-1 victory at Appalachian State… Becca Hemby paces the squad with five goals and 10 points, ranking second and third in the Big South, respectively.

A LOOK AT CU: The Camels have won three straight and four of their last five… They sit atop the conference standings after completion of the non-conference portion of the schedule… Campbell opens up at VMI on Thursday at 4:00 p.m… Ashley Clark leads the conference with six goals and 14 points as well as three game-winners… Ryann Torrero is tops amongst goalkeepers in save percentage (.841) and second in GAA (0.98).

RECAP: Eight different players scored a goal and four more added assists as Radford rolled past Southern Virginia, 9-0, on Sept. 7. Julie Ruh'e recorded two goals and an assist to a pace a Highlander attack that generated 23 shots and eight corner kicks.

UP NEXT: Radford hits the road next week for league contests at Presbyterian (9/27) and UNC Asheville (9/29).
