WILEY NETS TWO AS HIGHLANDERS RECORD PROGRAM'S 300TH WIN

BOX SCORE ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Senior Mary Wiley scored two goals to help Radford women's soccer win its 300th contest in program history with a 3-2 Big South road win at UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon. The victory was also the Highlanders' (7-2-1, 3-0-1 Big South) third straight and extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches.

For Wiley it was her second multi-goal match of her career as she broke a 1-1 tie in the 22nd minute and scored the eventual game-winner in the 52nd minute.

After the Bulldogs (3-9, 1-3) grabbed an early lead on a fifth-minute goal by Kaitlyn Eckert, the Highlanders scored three straight before a 90th-minute strike by Kennedy Garrett made the final margin one.

Junior Rachel Conway evened the contest at 1-apiece converting her third penalty kick of the season in the 13th minute for her team-best fifth score of the season.

Wiley gave the Highlanders the lead for good when she connected on a one timer after junior Sahar Aflaki found her with a service into the six. She pushed the lead to 3-1 on a breakaway. Wiley's third goal of the season was set up by sophomore Stephanie Herb.

Junior Che' Brown stopped six shots for the Highlanders, while her counterpart Heather Muller made a match-high nine saves.

Of Radford's 300 wins (1981-pr.), 168 have come since head coach Ben Sohrabi took over in 1996, including 47 since 2008.

The Highlanders return home on Thursday, Oct. 4 hosting Coastal Carolina at 7:00 p.m.
