ROAD TRIP TO CAMPBELL AWAITS MEN'S SOCCER

|

The Radford men's soccer team hits the road for the first time in Big South play on Saturday as the Highlanders travel to Buies Creek, N.C. to face Campbell. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Eakes Athletic Complex.

THE SERIES: In a rivalry that dates back to RU's inaugural men's soccer season of 1984, the Highlanders and the Camels have faced off 27 times prior to Saturday's match. Campbell holds a 14-11-2 advantage in the series. RU won last year's matchup, a 2-1 decision at Cupp Stadium.

THE LAST TIME OUT: Longwood scored just 32 seconds into Wednesday's match at Cupp Stadium, and the Lancers held up that lone goal throughout the remainder of the 90 minutes to post a 1-0 victory over Radford.

THE CAMELS: Campbell is coming off a 2-1 victory over Winthrop on Tuesday that improved the Camels to 2-6-2 overall and 2-0-0 in the Big South.

CU has struggled to score goals this season averaging 1.0 per game with 10 tallies in 10 games. Justin Franz leads the team with 3 goals and 2 assists for 8 points. Goalkeeper Ethan Hall has kept the Camels in most of their contests with a 1.71 goals against average.

THE HIGHLANDERS: Defense - Radford has given up just four goals in its last six games, but that has equated to a 3-2-1 record in that span. The Highlanders have not given up multiple goals in a game since a 4-1 loss to No. 23 UMBC on Sept. 14.

Offense: Joe Mayer leads the Big South with three game-winning goals. With 6 goals and 2 assists for 14 points, he is tied for 3rd in the league in both goals and points. Jamie Summers ranks tied for 7th in the conference with 3 assists on the season.
