Riding a season-long five game winning streak, Radford women's soccer hosts UNC Asheville on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Highlanders (9-1-1, 5-0 Big South) welcome the Bulldogs (5-7-1, 1-3-1) to Cupp for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Radford scored in the third minute and added a pair of second-half insurance goals, while senior Che' Brown made six saves as the Highlanders shut out Liberty, 3-0 on Wednesday in a battle of the last two undefeated teams in the league… Freshman Britney Kendall recorded a goal and an assist… Freshman Melanie Priestley netted the game-winner and sophomore Asyia Mitchell tacked on the third goal… Senior Sydney Golden set up Priestley's game-winner.
 
A LOOK AT RU: Radford is the only remaining undefeated team in Big South play… Radford's 9-1-1 start is the second best in program history… RU started 10-1 in 1993… Golden's assist was her team-best fourth, all coming on Big South game-winning goals… Brown's clean sheet brought her season total to five and career to 32… It was the team's seventh shutout and 43rd since 2010… With the win, RU improved their home winning (7) and unbeaten streaks (15/13-0-2)… The unbeaten streak is tied for the school record, which was first composed between the 1992 to 1994 seasons… The win extended the Highlanders' regular season league Big South streak to 16 (12-0-4)… Following the victory over Liberty, Radford, is 22-3-5 in Big South regular season home games (since 2007), including 18-1-3 the last four seasons… Brown leads the league in in save pct. (.896) and GAA (0.50) and is ranked eighth and 15th in the NCAA respectively… RU's defense is ranked second in save percentage (.896), sixth in GAA (0.43) and 14th in shutout percentage (.636)… 13 different Highlander have scored a goal this season… Golden was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 7) for her effort in a pair of road shutouts last week… Against Longwood, senior Julie Ruh'e recorded her 10th career game-winner, tying her with Susan Melanson for the school record (1998-pr.)… RU is on a streak of allowing two or fewer goals in a game over the last 30 matches and 43 of the last 45… Dating back to the 2011 Big South championship game, the Highlanders have allowed just six goals (20 matches) to league foes, 16 of those matches have resulted in clean sheets… Highlanders have not allowed a goal to a Big South opponent in last eight home games (seven regular season & one tournament) and the last 7822:35; High Point last team to score (Big South opener – 9/20/12)… RU has surrendered one goal at home over the last 1025:55 and just four since the start of last season (1419:22/15 matches)… With five one-goal victories this season, Radford is 18-5 in one-goal contests since 2011.
 
THE BULLDOGS: UNC Asheville suffered a last minute loss on Wednesday at Winthrop, 1-0 and has dropped its last two Big South matches… Kennedy Garrett paces the Bulldogs with two goals, two assists and six points… Shenny Lehhart and Amanda Knapp have also tallied a team-best two goals… Heather Muller has played all but 44:20 in goal this season and has posted a 1.09 GAA with 80 saves, an .851 save percentage and three shutouts… She ranks in the league's top four in saves per game (2nd/6.15), save percentage (3rd), GAA (4th), shutouts per game (4th/0.31), saves (4th) and shutouts (4th)… The defense ranks fourth in GAA (1.05) and fifth in goals allowed (14/1.08).

THE SERIES: This will be the 29th meeting between the squads with Radford holding a 19-6-3 lead in the series… The Highlanders are 8-2-1 at home and 3-1-1 at Cupp Stadium… RU has won eight straight (7-0-1), which included a shootout win in 2011… The Highlanders defeated the Bulldogs, 3-2, in Asheville last season… They earned a 1-0 victory in the last meeting at Cupp on Oct. 1, 2011… UNCA is the last league team (9/29/12) and just one of five to score two goals against RU's defense since 2010 (41 matches).
