HIGHLANDERS HOST VMI ON WEDNESDAY

RADFORD, Va. - With another important three points in the Big South standings at stake, the Radford men's soccer team plays host Wednesday evening to VMI at Cupp Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.

THE HIGHLANDERS: Radford stands tied for seventh place in the current Big South standings with eight points. The Highlanders are 5-5-4 on the season and 2-2-2 in conference play.

Bernardo Ulmo notched his first multiple-goal game of the year with two at Presbyterian on Sunday. With his first goal in that game, the Highlanders snapped a 280-minute scoreless streak. Ulmo now has six goals on the season and is tied for 8th in the Big South in that category.

Joe Mayer's goal with just under seven minutes to play at PC gave RU the victory. Mayer now has a team-high seven goals on the season, which ties him for fourth in the Big South. He is tied for the lead in the conference with four game-winners.

With an assist against PC, Luis Grande is tied for fourth in the league with five on the season. Jamie Summers and Dario Redondo are tied for 10th in the Big South with three apiece.

Goalkeeper, Dane Wilson ranks second in the Big South with a 1.13 goals against average and is tied for third with three shutouts on the season.

THE KEYDETS: VMI enters Wednesday's match at 2-12-1 overall and 2-6-0 in league play. The Keydets have been outscored 43-12 on the season, but are coming off a 1-0 victory over UNC Asheville.

THE SERIES: Radford leads the all-time series 25-5-5. The Highlanders have won two straight, including last year's 2-0 win in Lexington.
