Pulik Awarded Big South Bob McCloskey Graduate Fellowship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Radford Men's Soccer standout Tyler Pulik has been awarded the annual Big South Bob McCloskey Graduate Fellowship. Bob McClskey Insurance, a Big South Corporate Partner, will be awarding $2,000 towards Pulik's graduate studies.
 
Pulik just capped an impressive run as a four-year Highlander and served as the team captain for the most recent 2025 season. A key member of Radford's defensive backline, Pulik started in all 17 matches help the team post four shutouts and their lowest goals allowed average since 2020. Over his career, he appeared in 42 matches with 24 starts showcasing consistent growth and leadership on the field.
 
In the classroom, Pulik excelled as an Allied Health Science major graduating with an impressive 3.917 GPA and multiple Dean's List, Provost Scholar-Athlete Excellence, and Big South all-academic selections. He tutored on campus and was also a representative with Radford's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Pulik was also a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the pre-physical therapy club.
 
During his time at Radford, he has accumulated extensive clinical observation experience in physical therapy settings. Pulik has been accepted into the top physical therapy school in the country at the University of Delaware where he plans to continue building towards his goal of becoming a physical therapist and eventually opening his own clinic.
 
Nominations for the Graduate Fellowship are made by the Faculty Athletics Representative or the Chief Academic Officer at a Big South member institution, and are limited to one male and one female at each school. To qualify for the Big South Conference Graduate Fellowship, applicants must have the following requirements:
  • Have an overall undergraduate cumulative grade-point average of 3.500 or better based on a maximum 4.000, or the equivalent in other recognized grading systems;
  • Have competed in intercollegiate athletics as a member of a varsity team at a Big South Conference member institution;
  • Must be either a graduating senior during the academic year of the award, or be enrolled in a graduate program at a Big South Conference institution while completing the last year of eligibility;
  • Intend to continue academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree and enroll into a graduate degree program at a properly accredited, non-profit educational institution or into a post-baccalaureate professional degree program at a professionally accredited law school, medical school or the equivalent, without restriction as to the national site of the institution;
  • Have evidenced superior character and superior leadership;
  • Have demonstrated that participation in athletics and community service has been a positive influence on the nominee's personal and intellectual development.Relative success in athletics is important but not of overriding significance;
  • Enroll in a graduate degree program the term subsequent to being awarded the fellowship or present a rationale for deferred matriculation
