BIG SOUTH SELECTS VINCENT WYATT AS MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Vincent Wyatt's record-breaking performance in the 110m hurdles at last weekend's Wake Forest Invitational earned him the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office Thursday.

“Vincent was able to carry his momentum from his indoor season right into his first outdoor meet,” said assistant track and field coach Mark White, who oversees hurdles for RU. “It was a good way to start the season.”

Wyatt, a native from Atlanta, Ga., started the day with a Radford record of 14.00 in the prelims of the 110m hurdles. He then shattered that time while breaking the Big South record as he clocked a 13.81 to win the 110m hurdles at Wake Forest. Wyatt's time is currently No. 1 in the NCAA East Region, and third nationally.

Following Wyatt's showing over the weekend, he now holds all the top-10 marks in program history for the 110m hurdles.

The Highlanders return to action this Saturday, March 23rd as they travel to the University of Virginia Invitational.
