FOCUS BACK ON THE BIG SOUTH RACE AS HIGH POINT VISITS RADFORD

RADFORD, Va. - Fresh off one of the biggest wins in program history Wednesday at Virginia, the Radford baseball team returns its focus to Big South play for a weekend home series against North Division rival High Point. The first of the three-game series is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday evening at RU Baseball Stadium. Saturday's game begins at 4:00, and Sunday's first pitch of the finale is scheduled for 2:00.

The Highlanders enter the series on an eight-game winning streak, which is tied for the longest winning streak in school history. The 1989 team also won eight straigh games. RU is currently 20-11 on the season and atop the Big South North Division with a 7-2 record.

The Panthers come into the series 15-19 overall and 3-6 in the league. HPU has lost four straight games and is 4-11 on the road this season.

High Point leads the all-time series 21-19. The Highlanders, however, have won three straight series against the Panthers dating back to the 2009 season when the teams played each other only one time, a win by High Point. Radford has taken two out of three games from HPU in three straight seasons.

Josh Reavis is riding an 11-game hitting streak and leading the Highlander offense with a .322 batting average.
