RADFORD FACES COASTAL ON ESPN3 FRIDAY NIGHT

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -
Radford travels to Coastal Carolina for a weekend baseball series and Friday's series opener will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com. First pitch is set for 6:02 p.m. at Pelicans Park in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The middle game of the series is set for 6:00 on Saturday with the finale slated at 2:00 on Sunday.

The Chanticleers lead the Big South South Division with a 10-2 mark. Coastal is 24-13 on the season. After tying a school record with eight straight wins and defeating the highest ranked opponent in school history at #4 Virginia, the Highlanders have dropped four consecutive and find themselves 2.5 games behind Campbell in the Big South North Division.

THE SERIES
♦ Radford and Coastal Carolina have played 82 times prior to this series. The Chanticleers lead the all-time series, 62-20.
♦ The Chanticleers have won 11 straight games played at Coastal dating back to the 2005 regular season.

HIGHLANDER TRENDS
♦ RU is 10-4 on the road this season and has won five straight away from home. RU was 10-17 in true road games last season.

Kemp leads the team with nine multiple RBI games and has reached base in 27 straight games.
Josh Gardiner returned to the leadoff position in the batting lineup and at second base defensively vs. James Madison after missing the High Point series with an injured ankle that he hurt in the Virginia game. He finished the game against the Cavaliers after turning his ankle on first base in the opening inning. Gardiner owns a five-game hitting streak.
Josh Reavis currently has a 15-game hitting streak.  All 22 hits for the Radford catcher during the streak have been singles. Of his 34 base hits on the season, 33 are singles. Reavis leads the team with a .324 batting average on the season.
♦ The Highlanders have four players that have had double-digit game hitting streaks during the season - Josh Reavis (15) [current], Hunter Higgerson (10) [current], Josh Gardiner (10), and Alexander Lee (10).

AT THE PLATE
Blake Sipe ranks #51 in the nation in toughest to strikeout. He is averaging a strikeout in every 14.3 at bats.
Josh Gardiner ranks #74 in the nation at 0.97 runs per game.
Zach Woolcock ranks #82 in the nation with three triples on the season.

The shortsop is fifth all-time with 141 RBI.  He is fifth in total bases at 344 for his career. Kemp is tied for seventh with 23 career home runs. He is eighth all-time in doubles with 44.
