RADFORD PUTS STREAK ON THE LINE AT #4 VIRGINIA

RADFORD, Va. - Radford will put its seven-game winning streak on the line Wednesday in Charlottesville, Va. as the Highlanders face the No. 4 team in the nation, Virginia. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. from Davenport Field. The Highlanders are trying to equal the school record of eight consecutive wins, which was set in 1989.

HIGHLANDER TRENDS
♦ RU is 9-4 on the road this season and has won four straight away from home. RU was 10-17 in true road games last season.
♦ Radford's current seven-game winning streak is one game from the school record of eight, which was set in 1989. The Highlanders have twice won seven straight games under Joe Raccuia. The last time came in 2010.
♦ The Highlanders are 12-3 this season when they score first. RU was 21-10 last year.
♦ Radford's bench has come through in the last five games. Non-starters are batting .571 with a double and four RBI. The bullpen posted a 0.68 ERA in 26.2 innings, including four victories and a save. RU relievers struck out 17 and held opponents to a .144 average against last week.

WEDNESDAY'S STARTER
Dylan Nelson is making his fifth start and eighth appearance of the season. Since a tough start at Virginia Tech early in the season that left his ERA at 13.50, he has since given up only four earned runs in one other appearance (George Mason) to lower his ERA to a current 7.12 mark. His most effective outing came in his last start vs. North Carolina A&T. Nelson went 6.0 innings and gave up four hits and three runs (two earned). He threw 91 pitches.
