Series Notes  |  Live Video G1 - G3  |  Live Audio G1 - G2 - G3

RADFORD, Va. -
For the first time in the history of this in-state rivalry, Radford and Longwood will meet on the baseball diamond as members of the Big South Conference. The Highlanders travel to Farmville on Friday to being an important three-game series against the Lancers. Friday's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., and Saturday's middle game of the series begins at 4:00. Sunday's finale is set for 1:00.

The Highlanders and the Lancers have met 18 times before in their history with Longwood holding an 11-7 advantage in the all-time series. Radford has won four of the last five since Joe Raccuia took over as head coach of the Highlanders. Longwood won last year's matchup, 9-6, in Farmville.  RU is just 1-9 all-time in games vs. the Lancers played in Farmville.

Radford (24-20, 9-6) is returning to conference play after six straight games againsth non-league foes. After completing the season sweep of East Tennessee State last week, the Highlanders have dropped four of their last five games, including three straight losses. Radford defeated College of Charleston in the opening game of last weekend's series for the first-ever win over the Cougars. Radford dropped a 4-3 decision Tuesday at home against No. 25 Virginia Tech.

The Lancers (21-21, 10-8) have won four straight and are just a half game behind Radford in the Big South North Division. Longwood swept a Big South series at home last weekend over Gardner-Webb and then defeated George Mason in Fairfax on Tuesday.
