HIGHLANDERS HOST SOUTHERN VIRGINIA ON FRIDAY EVENING

Radford closes out its non-conference home schedule on Friday, Sept. 13 when it hosts Southern Virginia. Kickoff from Cupp Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Highlanders (3-0-1) are currently undefeated and have won their last three contests, the last two by shutout.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Behind six different goals scorers, Radford cruised to a 6-0 victory over Delaware State at home on Sept. 6... Five Highlanders scored their first goals of the season and two, freshman Britney Kendall and red-shirt freshman Maddy Bisantz, netted their first collegiate goals… Junior Annabel Bergin recorded a goal and an assist… Senior Lauren Hicks and freshman Melanie Priestley dished out their first collegiate assists.
 
A LOOK AT YOUR HIGHLANDERS: The win extended the Highlanders' undefeated regular season and home streaks to 18 and 12 games, respectively... It is also Radford's best start since beginning 2007, 4-0, and is the first undefeated start after four games since 2008 (2-0-2)… They are the only remaining undefeated team in the Big South… A win against Southern Virginia will result in the Highlanders best start since 1993 (10-0)… RU is currently on a streak of allowing two or few goals in a game over the last 23 matches and 37 of the last 39… With the pair of one-goal victories this season, RU is 22-5-6 in games decided by two goals or less since 2011, 15-4 in one-goal contests… The Highlanders are ranked 25th in the NCAA with a 0.47 goals against average… RU has allowed one goal at home over the 736:57 and just four since the start of last season (1130:24).
 
THE KNIGHTS: Southern Virginia (1-2) is coming off its first victory of the season, a 9-0 thumping of Trinity on the road… Lora Palmer registered two goals and two assists… Tatiana Monsen also netted two goals.

THE SERIES: Radford is 3-0 against Southern Virginia, outscoring the Knights, 25-0 in the series that dates back to 2010… The Highlanders defeated SVU, 9-0 last season.
