Two of the four unbeaten and untied teams in the Big South Conference standings square off Friday at High Point when the Radford (8-2-2, 5-0-0) men's soccer team travels to face the Panthers (5-4-1, 3-0-0) at Vert Field. Kickoff on the High Point campus is set for 7:00 p.m. The game will be carried live on the Big South Network.

9580"Every season this is one of our toughest games on the schedule," Radford head coach Marc Reeves, who is 1-2-2 all-time against HPU, said of the matchup with the Panthers. "High Point is an athletic, fast, talented, and always well-coached team. With both teams on max points, there is the added incentive to gain further advantage over this direct opponent."

The two teams have battled to scoreless ties in each of the last two seasons. Radford has not given up a goal to the Panthers in three seasons having defeated HPU, 1-0 in 2011. Radford leads the all-time series, 10-6-4.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
High Point's Mamadee Nyepon is the nation's third-leading and top Big South goal scorer with nine on the season. The rest of the team, however, has only found the net seven times on the season. The Panthers also boast a stout defense giving up just 8.1 shots per game.

THE HIGHLANDERS
Radford boasts the league's stingiest defense. The Highlanders and goalkeeper Aitor Pouseu Blanco own a 0.72 goals against average, which is tops in the Big South and ranks 19th nationally. With six shutouts, the Highlanders lead the conference rankings as well. Offensively, RU is 21st in the country in goals with 24 on the season. Current Big South Attacking Player of the Week, Stephen Hudgens and Kieran Roberts are both tied for second in the league with five goals apiece. Each also owns a share of the lead in the league with three game-winning goals.

"We continue our preparations and expect our guys to raise their level of play for a big game," Reeves said.
