FINAL NON-CONFERENCE MATCH AT NATIONAL POWER VIRGINIA

|
LIVE STATS  |  LIVE VIDEO

Radford (9-2-2) will be riding the nation's longest winning streak - tied with Coastal Carolina at seven games - and a single season school-record 11-game unbeaten streak (9-0-2 in that span) when the Highlanders travel Tuesday to nationally-ranked Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. The Cavaliers (8-4-1) are ranked No. 10 in the NSCAA poll prior to Tuesday's new release. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Klockner Stadium.

9596Head coach Marc Reeves spoke about the matchup with the highly-ranked Cavaliers. "We are excited to take on one of the top programs in college soccer. Their coaches continually do an unbelievable job of putting out one of the best teams in the country, and we know this year is no different in terms of the level of talent and the way they play."

Virginia leads the all-time series 10-0-0.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
Despite a 2-1 loss Friday at Clemson, Virginia remains one of the top-ranked teams in the country. The loss to the Tigers snapped a four-game winning streak. UVa is 5-1-1 at home this season with the only loss coming to Davidson and a tie vs. Notre Dame. The Cavaliers are one of the top defensive teams in the ACC having given up only nine goals on the season. Calle Brown owns a 0.67 goals against average and has five shutouts in 11 games in goal. Eric Bird leads the team with four goals and two assists for 10 points.

THE HIGHLANDERS
With the win at High Point, Radford set the single-season school record for unbeaten streak at 11 games. The previous record was 10 games in 1991. The overall school record is 14 games held together by the 1988 (9 games at the end of the season) and 1989 squads (5 games at the beginning of the season). The win over the Panthers was also the seventh straight for RU, which is shared with fellow Big South foe Coastal Carolina for the nation's longest current win streak. The Highlanders are currently ranked #10 in the South Region by the NSCAA.

Individually, Aitor Pouseu Blanco leads the league in goals against average (0.74), goals allowed per game (0.77), save percentage (.762), and shutouts (6). Fraser Colmer leads the Big South in assists (5), and both Kieran Roberts and Stephen Hudgens are among those tied for game-winning goals (3).

"We have been preparing and performing well and our group has real belief that we are up for the challenge," Reeves said.
