AUSTIN TIED FOR FIFTH AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT FIGHTING CAMEL FALL CLASSIC

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Alexandra Austin of the Radford women's golf team signed for a 3-over-par 147 (73-74) and is tied for fifth place following Monday's 36 holes at the Fighting Camel Fall Classic hosted by Campbell at the par 72, 6,026-yard Keith Hills Country Club.

The senior logged four birdies on the day, including three in a stretch of four holes during her second round. Austin will be gunning for her ninth career top-5 tomorrow.

On the strength of Austin's stellar effort, the Highlanders fired rounds of 329 and 314. Their two-round 643 is eighth in the field. Campbell, ranked 30th in the nation, leads its home tournament by seven shots over High Point. The Camels finished at 593 (296-297) while HPU returned a 600 (300-300) to the clubhouse.

Individual frontrunner Sarah Bae propelled the Panthers to a strong start with her 2-under-par 142 (70-72). She has a 2-shot advantage over Campbell's Nadine White, and is only five swings clear of Austin, entering the final round.

Khushboo Thiagaraj is 40th in the 52-golfer field. The freshman shot rounds of 82 and 80 to bring in a 162 for her 36-hole total. Meagan Board and Olivia Jay are tied for 47th at 167. Morgan Cox (51st) and Megan Frederick (52nd) are also competing at the 54-hole tournament.

RU will play with Carson-Newman and Marshall in Tuesday's final round, which gets underway with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
