RADFORD Va. –
Radford women's soccer scored four first half goals and held Longwood to just seven shots as it cruised to a convincing 5-1 victory on a chilly and windy Saturday afternoon at Cupp Stadium. Freshman Jordan Lundin had a hand in four of those tallies with a school-record four assists, while senior Kara Wade tallied two goals and an assist.

Lundin joins a small group that includes RU Hall of Famer, All-American and 1993 Herman Trophy finalist Sue Williams. Suzanne Campbell and Brianna Kipper, last did the honor in 2007, are also in the group.

For Wade, it was her second multi-goal game of the season and brought her single-season total to a team and personal-best seven to go along with team-high 16 points. She tallied RU's second and fourth goals of the first half and assisted on the third.

Following some early chances by the Lancers (6-5-1, 1-2-0 Big South), the Highlanders (6-4-2, 3-0-1) scored 91 seconds apart to take a 2-0 lead 18:32 into the match. Red-shirt sophomore Hannah Thomas got the ball rolling, heading home Lundin's corner kick in the 18th minute for her first collegiate goal. Wade followed Thomas' opening strike with a nice individual effort into the box and finishing with a toe poke just inside the near post.

In the 28th minute, another set piece set up Mitchell's second goal of the season. Wade slipped the ball to Lundin, who found a wide open Mitchell in the six, and the junior striker put the ball home for a 3-0 lead.

The Lancers got on the board in the 34th minute when Samantha Phillips flicked and redirected Alana Mackey's 30-yard free kick near post for her fourth goal of the season.

Wade helped RU regain its three-goal advantage (39') by scooping up Lundin's blocked shot and finishing with her left past the keeper.

Sophomore Hannah Duff closed out the scoring (52') on a beautiful set piece, the third of the day for the Highlanders. Thomas flicked Lundin's corner kick and Duff roofed her volley with some authority for the fifth and final goal.

Radford out shot Longwood, 13-7 and held the Lancers to only one shot in the second half. Sophomore Sydney Chervenic, who earned the start after her effort on Wednesday, made four saves in the win.

Radford begins a three-game road swing at Liberty on Wednesday, October 8 at 3 p.m.
