BIG SOUTH TOURNAMENT BEGINS TUESDAY AT CUPP

Regular season champion Radford plays host Tuesday night to Campbell in the opening round of the Big South Conference Tournament. Kickoff at Cupp Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m. The top-seeded Highlanders, who won the conference title for the first time since 1998, defeated the Camels earlier in the season, 3-2 in overtime at Cupp.

"All eight teams want to be tournament champions and gain an automatic NCAA bid," Radford head coach Marc Reeves said of the matchup with the Camels. "Seedings are irrelevant when it comes to a quarterfinal match. We wanted to ensure we got a home game and now have to be prepared to perform well against a very talented and quick Campbell team. Our games have always been close, and we need to ensure we focus in on the details that have made us successful throughout the regular season."

Radford is 3-0-1 against Campbell under Reeves and since the Camels rejoined the Big South. Campbell leads the all-time series, 12-10-1 and does own a 4-0 record vs. the Highlanders in the Big South Tournament. Those four wins, however, came in 1984, 1985, 1991, and 1992. Campbell has not defeated RU since the 1999 season (5 meetings).

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell has dropped four straight games since back-to-back wins over Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb in the middle of the conference slate. Bradley Farias is the league's second-leading scorer with 9 goals, 4 assists, and 22 points on the season. He scored a goal against the Highlanders in the earlier match this season. Matthew Mozynski has played every minute in goal for the Camels and given up 34 scores while making 94 saves.

THE HIGHLANDERS
Radford is looking to rebound after a 1-0 defeat to Winthrop to close out the regular season. Tuesday's game will be the final home game for seven RU seniors: Brandon Atwell, Ramzi Dridi, Stephen Hudgens, Michael Hutcheon, Chel Ho Park Kim, Dario Redondo, and Nico Valencia,

Hudgens and Kieran Roberts each are tied for the Big South lead with three game-winning goals on the season. Hudgens scored the overtime game-winner vs. the Camels the first time around. Aitor Pouseu Blanco leads the league in shutouts (7), victories (11), and goals against average (0.85) as keeper for the Highlanders.

"We have enjoyed great support throughout the year and hope Tuesday night that local soccer fans and in particular, RU students will come down to see us play at home for the final time this year," Reeves said. "Cupp Stadium can produce a great atmosphere when we play well and the fans get behind us. We plan to raise our energy and commitment on the field to do everything we can to extend our season."

For the league tournament, admission is charged to enter Cupp Stadium. Prices for Tuesday's quarterfinal are as follows:
   - Adults (13 and up) - $5
   - Children (Ages 3-12) - $3
   - Children (Ages 2 and under) - FREE
   - Radford Students with RU ID - FREE
   - Non-Radford College Students - $2
