FARNAN PLACES THIRD IN MEN'S MILE AT LIBERTY QUAD

 

RESULTS

LYNCHBURG, Va.
– Radford track and field sent six members of its distance crew to the Liberty Quad, which concluded Monday at the Flames' Tolsma Indoor Track Center.

Ryan Farnan paced four Highlanders in the men's mile with his 4:20.09, which was a PR and earned him third place. Based on his effort, the junior moves into 13th in the Big South rankings for the event. Chaz Porter was the next to cross the line, placing fifth at 4:23.99 (PR). Chris Weeks (4:34.73) and Harrison Murn (4:44.25) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
 
On the women's side, Emily Marshall delivered a fifth-place performance by covering the mile in a personal-best 5:27.82. Courtney Burton was right behind in sixth position, stopping the clock at 5:31.51 (PR).
 
The distance crew, along with the rest of the Highlanders, now turn their attention to this weekend's VT Challenge. The two-day meet begins Friday at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
