
RETTBERG ASCENDS TO FIRST, RADFORD FOURTH AT KINGSMILL

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Ryan Rettberg climbed to first place while the Radford men's golf team is fourth following Monday's second round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary at Kingsmill Resort's River Course (par 70, 6,765 yards).

Behind five birdies, including three in a row on holes 16-18, Rettberg signed for a 3-under-par 67. By tying for the lowest round of the day, Rettberg's 136 (69-67) is two shots clear of UNC Greensboro's Carter Jenkins and Texas Tech's Clement Sordet. Through 36 holes, Rettberg leads the field in par-3 scoring (-3), par-4 scoring (-2) and is tied for the lead in birdies (eight).

Nick Brediger put together a solid round, logging 15 pars en route to a 1-over-par 71. His 36-hole 147 (76-71) has the freshman tied for 38th. Brediger leads the field in pars recorded with 28.

Also tied for 38th is Tanner Carbaugh, who tallied rounds of 74 and 73. After dropping to 5-over-par during Monday's round, the junior battled back with two birdies on his final three holes.

Conner Hayden started strong in his second round, getting to 2-under-par through eight holes. He finished at 2-over-par 72 to bring his 36-hole total to 151 (79-72), which is tied for 60th. At 152 (76-76), Callum Tarren is tied for 70th.

Thanks to two of its golfers shooting in red figures, No. 50 Texas Tech fired a 2-under-par 278 to establish an eight-shot difference between the Red Raiders' 566 and Eastern Michigan's 574 with 18 holes to go. James Madison is third at 577, one swing ahead of the Highlanders' 578. 48th-ranked UNC Greensboro is fifth at 579.

In a rare occasion, Tuesday's final round will be played in groups of five. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Texas Tech, Eastern Michigan, JMU, Radford and UNCG will tee off on holes 1-4. Live scoring will be available at this link.
