RADFORD HOSTS LONGWOOD IN BIG SOUTH HOME OPENING SERIES

Winners of 12 of their last 15 games, including a 7-1 mark at home, Radford (14-9, 5-1) hosts Longwood (12-14, 2-4) this weekend in the first Big South series to be played at RU Baseball Stadium this season. The schedule for th series has been adjusted with rain due in the New River Valley. Friday's game has been postponed. Saturday's opener is at 4:00 p.m. with Sunday's game at 2:00. Monday's finale is set for 5:30.

Longwood enters the series having dropped four straight, including a conference series sweep to Campbell. The Lancers are led by first-year head coach Brian McCullough.

The Highlanders swept a Big South road series at Charleston Southern last weekend and had their midweek game at James Madison cancelled. RU has won three straight games overall. Josh Reavis was named the Choice Hotels Big South Player of the Week for his performance against the Buccaneers when he hit .571 and .667 with runners in scoring position as RU averaged 12 runs per game and stayed tied for first place with Liberty in the North Division.

Longwood leads the all-time series, 11-10. The Highlanders have won seven of the last eight since LU moved to Division I, including a three-game Big South sweep in Farmville last season.
