WILLIAMSON SETS SCHOOL RECORD IN 5,000 METERS AT RALEIGH RELAYS

RESULTS

RALEIGH, N.C. –
Teresa Williamson delivered the sixth program record of her career, including her second of the outdoor season as Radford's distance crew improved numerous personal records Friday at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State at Paul Derr Track.

WOMEN'S 5,000-METER RUN SECTION B
For the second straight week, Williamson rocketed around the track for a school record. The junior's 16:55.33 eclipsed the previous record by 30 seconds. Ironically, Lori Crotts set the previous record at the Raleigh Relays in 2010.

In addition to improving the school record, Williamson trimmed over one minute off her previous PR, which was set at last year's Big South outdoor track and field championships. The race also featured two of the conference's best in the event: Williamson and Coastal Carolina's Letitia Saayman. Williamson placed fourth in the race, edging Saayman by less than one second.

WOMEN'S 3,000-METER STEEPLECHASE SECTION C
Courtney Rice (11:38.98) knocked over 30 seconds off her PR to place ninth. She set the fourth-best time in program history for the event.

WOMEN'S 5,000-METER RUN SECTION E
Madeline Thomas completed the distance in 18:44.05 to set a PR and move up to seventh in the Big South rankings.

WOMEN'S 1,500-METER RUN
Shaving nearly 30 seconds off her PR, Malina Richardson moved up to 11th place in the Big South rankings by stopping the watch at 4:52.46.

MEN'S 1,500-METER RUN
Behind a 3:58.53 pace, Chris Weeks improved his PR and climbed to fourth place in the Big South standings for the event. Additionally, Chaz Porter (3:59.39), Joey Hannah (4:07.21) and Graham Schlickenmeyer (4:25.94) all lowered their individual-best times in the meet.

SATURDAY'S SCHEDULE
Ryan Farnan leads the Highlanders into Saturday's competition as he opens the day at 10:25 a.m. in the men's 10,000-meter section B run.
