HIGHLANDERS TRAVEL TO ETSU FOR WEDNESDAY TILT

LIVE STATS  |  RU SPORTS NETWORK AUDIO

Thanks to Mother Nature and a few scheduling tweaks, the Radford baseball team has not played a road game in over two weeks. That streak of eight straight home games ends Wednesday night at the Highlanders travel to Johnson City, Tenn. to face East Tennessee State, which is coming off a 9-7 victory at home Tuesday night over the Tennessee Volunteers. First pitch at Thomas Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.

Radford (21-17) has won three of its last four games and two straight, including a series win over Big South North Divisioin rival Campbell, and a 15-1 pounding of North Carolina A&T. The Highlanders completed the home stand 5-3 and moved to four games above .500 for just the second time this season. With a win Wednesday, Radford could match its season high of five games above that it enjoyed after the Charleston Southern sereis (14-9). The Highlanders swept the home-and-home series from the Buccaneers a year ago. RU won 4-2 at ETSU and defeated the Bucs 14-10 at RU Baseball Stadium.

ETSU (20-18) leads the all-time series, 21-16. The Buccaneers completed a season sweep of in-state rival Tennessee on Tuesday night in front of a record-setting crowd at Thomas Stadium.
