BASEBALL OPENS HOME STAND FRIDAY NIGHT

Radford begins the completion of a stretch where the Highlanders will have played 13 of 14 games at home with a three-game series that begins Friday vs. Quinnipiac. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at RU Baseball Stadium, while Saturday's and Sunday's games against the Bobcats are scheduled for 4:00 and 12:00, respectively.

RU played its first game away from Radford on Wednesday, a 7-6 victory at East Tennessee State. Prior to that, the Highlanders went 5-3 on an eight-game home stand. After the completion of the Quinnipiac series, RU finishes the extended home stretch with single games vs. Virginia Tech next Tuesday and ETSU on Wednesday.

With the win at ETSU, Radford (22-17) pushed its record to five games above .500 for the second time this season.

Quinnipiac comes into the series having dropped two games in a row, but those came at the end of a nine-game winnings streak for the Bobcats. QU is 11-4 in its last 15 games. At 10-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the Bobcats are a half game behind Siena in the league standings.
