VINCENT WYATT BREAKS BIG SOUTH RECORD AT VIRGINIA CHALLENGE

RESULTS

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –
There must be something Radford hurdler Vincent Wyatt likes about Lannigan Field. Returning to the venue where he set the Big South record in the men's 110-meter hurdles, Wyatt improved that time to claim his ninth individual title of the year Saturday at the Virginia Challenge.

After running a 13.77 in the prelims to earn the top seed for the final, Wyatt jetted to a 13.65, which is the fastest time for the event in Big South and Radford track history. His performance came just over one month after clocking a 13.72 (which was the record at the time) at this same track. With his 13.65 effort, Wyatt continues to hold the No. 3 seed for the NCAA East Regional.

On the women's side, Jessica Shelton sprinted a 14.36 (seventh-fastest in program history) in the prelims of the women's 100-meter hurdles to earn the fifth seed for the final. She delivered a 14.44 in the final to place sixth.

Radford will send a trio of its student-athletes to Louisville, Ky. next Friday, May 16, for the Cardinal Twilight. In addition to Wyatt and Shelton, Joseph Betts will also venture to the Bluegrass State in search of a berth into the NCAA East Regional.
