WYATT BREAKS BIG SOUTH RECORD TO PUNCH TICKET TO NATIONALS

RESULTS

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
In addition to winning heat three and advancing to nationals, Radford hurdler Vincent Wyatt clocked a 13.60 Saturday evening to break the program and Big South record for the men's 110-meter hurdles at the 2014 NCAA East Preliminary Round contested at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

The junior trimmed .05 of a second off his previous-best time to place third overall. Florida's Eddie Lovett, who led all qualifiers in Friday's first round, stopped the watch in 13.45 for the best performance of the 24 quarterfinalists. Greggmar Swift of Indiana State secured second with his 13.49 effort.

On the strength of his record-setting performance, Wyatt became the seventh Highlander on the men's side to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The 12 qualifiers from the East Region will join the 12 qualifiers from the West Region at the national championships, which will be contested June 11-14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
