FINAL PRESEASON EXHIBITION COMPLETE IN PREPARATION FOR CLEMSON OPENER

RADFORD, Va. - The third and final preseason exhibition played out at Dedmon Center Field on Tuesday with Charleston (W.Va.) scoring the game's only goal as Radford completed its competitive preparations for Friday's season opener at Clemson. The Highlanders and Golden Eagles battled to a scoreless first half and each team tallied nine shots for the game.

"This was a very good final exhibition game against a talented, strong, and always well-coached team," Radford head coach Marc Reeves said. "We looked solid on defense and need to be a little better in possession of the ball to create chances on offense."

Jamie Summers notched three shots for the offense. The Highlanders missed on a couple prime opportunities, including an open look by Michael Walsh that just sailed above the crossbar. Stephen Hudgens put a hard effort on goal, but had it saved by the Charleston keeper.

Aitor Pouseu Blanco recorded two saves in goal turning away the only pair of shots he faced. Charleston managed just three shots on goal for the night against the Highlander defense.

"We have a couple more days of prep for an extremely difficult challenge at Clemson and Riggs Field," Reeves said.
