THE FIELD
Headlining this year's field is defending champion Virginia Tech. The Hokies return to defend their title after carding a 23-under 841 (287-280-274) to win by a landslide last season. Iowa State, the tournament runner-up in 2013, is also entered in the field.
THE COURSE
Hermitage Country Club was founded in 1900 on the outer edges of the city of Richmond. The course hosts two very popular amateur events annually: the Valentine Invitational and the Tommy Galloway Father-Son tournament.
Hermitage features medium-sized greens with 40-foot pines to make it interesting. This traditional-style course has tree-lined fairways built on rolling terrain, and water comes into play on several holes.
UP NEXT
On deck for the Highlanders is a trip to Camden, S.C. for the Camden Collegiate Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held Oct. 18-19 at Camden Country Club.
