WIECHECKI SETS RALLY-SCORING KILLS RECORD IN SWEEP OF N.C. CENTRAL

RADFORD, Va. – Headlined by senior Rachel Wiechecki's record-breaking night, Radford volleyball cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-16) win over North Carolina Central Tuesday night inside the Dedmon Center.
 
After recording six kills in the first set, Wiechecki broke Radford's all-time kills record for the rally-scoring era early in the second set. The senior now has 1,074 kills, which surpassed Divona Cox's 1,066.
 
To cap her historical night, Wiechecki recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 18 digs, while hitting .500 for the Highlanders (3-1). Savannah Cantrell hit .600 on her way to six kills. Jena Braden had a match-high 28 assists. Alyssa Pitt, seeing her first action as a Highlander, totaled a match-best five blocks at the net.
 
NCCU (0-4) was led by Da'sha Brown's eight kills. Paige Phillips dished out 15 assists and Lauryn Marin recorded nine digs.
 
The Highlanders are back in action Friday as they head to Las Cruces, N.M. for the La Quinta Invitational hosted by New Mexico State. RU faces California in the first match of the day at 12 p.m. ET (10 a.m. MT).
