THREE-GAME HOMESTAND BEGINS WITH CHARLESTON SOUTHERN ON SATURDAY

After opening up Big South Conference play with a 1-0 double OT time win against Presbyterian, Radford women's soccer begins a three-game league homestand, hosting Charleston Southern on Saturday, Sept. 27. Kickoff at Cupp Stadium between the Highlanders (4-4-1, 1-0-0 Big South) and Buccaneers (4-5-0, 0-1-0) is 2:00 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Freshman Jordan Lundin converted a penalty kick in the 103rd minute and classmate Katie McCormick made four saves as Radford escaped with a 1-0 double overtime win at Presbyterian (box score) in its Big South opener on Wednesday… The win extended RU winning streak over the Blue Hose to six games… It also marked the fourth straight clean sheet against Presbyterian… RU has not allowed a Blue Hose goal over the last 465:53 and just one in the last seven meetings.
 
A LOOK AT YOUR HIGHLANDERS: RU has won four of its last five contests… Freshman Jordan Lundin's goal was her third of the season and first collegiate game-winner… Nine different Highlanders have scored a goal this season… Kara Wade paces RU with four goals and eight points… Lundin is second on the squad with three goals and seven points… Jasmine Sampson, Hannah Duff and McKensey Ziegler all have two assists… McCormick registered her second shutout of the season on Wednesday and has a 1.13 GAA with 47 saves through 797:21 of action.
 
MCCORMICK HONORED: Katie McCormick was recognized as the Big South Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against VMI and Appalachian State… She recorded nine saves and earned her first collegiate clean sheet… After making three saves at VMI, she made six more against App State, including three big stops in the first half.
 
BIG SOUTH: Following a its victory on Wednesday, Radford is undefeated (6-0-2) in its last eight Big South openers…. Improved to 18-1-4 in Big South regular season games since 2012 and 32-5-5 since 2010… The shutout against PC was the 26th in league regular season play since 2010… RU has claimed three of the last four regular season titles, along with tournament championships in 2011 and 2012 and a tournament runner-up finish in 2013.
 
THE BUCCANEERS: Charleston Southern is coming off a 4-1 loss to Liberty at home in its league opener and have dropped four straight… Anna Sells is one of the top goal scorers in the conference with a team best six this season, scoring in five of CSU's nine matches… Liz-Amanda Brown has played every minute in goal, posting a 1.62 GAA with 53 saves.


THE SERIES: RU leads the series overall 16-6-5 and is 8-1-2 against the Buccaneers when playing at home (5-0-1 at Cupp)… The Highlanders have won the last four meeting and are undefeated (14-0-5) against the Bucs since 1999… The only "defeat" during that stretch was a shootout win by CSU (box score) at the 2004 Big South tournament… Last year, the Highlanders upended the Buccaneers 2-0 (box score) at home in the Big South quarterfinals and 2-1 (box score) on the road during the regular season.
