WOMEN'S SOCCER HEADS TO OUR NATION'S CAPITAL TO FACE HOWARD

Radford women's soccer travels to Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Sept. 7 to face the Howard University Bison for the first of two away games. The Highlanders and Bison will kick off in our nation's capital at 2:00 p.m. at Greene Stadium.

A LOOK AT YOUR HIGHLANDERS: In its home opener against Villanova, Radford dropped a 1-0 decision to the Wildcats (box score). During action, a foul and a quick restart allowed Katie Martin (Villanova) to put one in the back of the net from about 22 yards for the game winner. Freshmen Jordan Lundin and McKensey Ziegler each had great opportunites even the contest. Lundin's long range blast was tipped over the crossbar in the 61st minute and Ziegler pushed a 1v1 far post effort past Martin, but the ball bounced off the post and was cleared in the 79th minute.

THE BISON: The Bison (0-3-0) have had some tough luck, dropping their first three matches by one-goal each. Nia Walcott has scored Howard's lone goal in a 2-1 season-opening loss against VMI. Kyra Dickinson has been strong between the pipes, gathering 19 saves, while posting a 1.30 GAA and .826 save percentage.
