BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE LEADERS SQUARE OFF IN ROCK HILL, TUESDAY



SETTING THE STAGE
  • Radford and Winthrop, two of the top scoring teams in the Big South, are set to collide Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a league men's soccer tilt at Eagle Field in Rock Hill, S.C.
  • RU and the Eagles rank first and third, respectively, in goals per game among Big South programs.
  • The two sides are the only remaining teams in the Big South with an unblemished conference record.
  • Marc Reeves is 3-3-1 against Winthrop as Radford's head coach.
  • The Eagles handed RU its only conference loss during the 2014 regular season.
  • Winthrop has won the last two regular-season meetings, 1-0.

  • Behind its six-match winning streak, Radford has earned its first national ranking of the season (No. 25 by TopDrawerSoccer.com and College Soccer News).

  • Despite a slow start to the season (1-5 through its first six matches), Winthrop has regrouped to win three in a row following Wednesday's 4-3 victory at Gardner-Webb.
  • Max Hasenstab, the Big South's preseason attacking player of the year, leads the Eagles and the Big South in shots per game (4.38).
  • Jordi Lluch is Winthrop's leading goal scorer with six.
  • Winthrop is 2-1-0 at home this season (lone loss was to Wofford, 3-0).
